This is an incredible 'behind closed doors' look at the real nuts and bolts of the electric car revolution. Follow directer Chris Paine as he takes his film crew to secretive engineering labs of auto makers Nissan, General Motors and Tesla as they document the revenge of the electric car. Chris also looks at an 'outsider' who is engineering his own electric car, joining the revelation.

In 2006, around 5000 electric cars were destroyed by the major car companies that built them, which begged the question, "Who Killed the Electric Car?". Ten years later and today electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles are becoming more and more common place on our roads and most auto makers now have one or more available from their stables. This documentary looks at how the electric car made an aggressive comeback from the scrapyard and how in under ten years is now the primary focus or research and development of auto manufactures today.
